The Central Pacific
beach hotels are located closen to San Jose than
the ones located on the North or South Pacific regions.
In Manuel Antonio and Jaco most of the luxury hotels
are situated on a hill overlooking the ocean, giving
you an incredible view, just a few have direct access
to the beach. Both areas are touristic centers and
you will find from luxury hotels and bungalows with
all the amenities, to economic places to stay at.
Dominical is a less developed village, where you
will find few hotels located close to the ocean.

The main destination
on this region of our country, known as Corcovado,
is a remote and undeveloped area located in the
Osa Peninsula. There are two main areas where the
hotels area located: Drake Bay and Cabo Matapalo,
but there area also lodges in places as Carate and
Sirena. Lodges are rustic but comfortable, some
of them with the amenities of a luxury resort. Most
jungle-lodges have an open-air restaurant and incredible
ocean views. Due to the location and isolation of
each hotel, the rates usually include all meals.
Other beaches are located close to Golfito town,
on the southern region. |

The
Caribbean side offers the authentic Afro-Caribbean
flavour atmosphere and cultural diversity.
Since a great part of the coastal area is
protected by national parks and wildlife refuges,
the development has been slower than in the
Pacific coast. Most of the lodges and hotels
in these tropical seaside villages have been
built with unique styles, blending traditional
materials, different kinds of woods and thatched-palm
roofs with modern buildings and amenities
concepts. The main beaches are: Puerto Viejo,
Cahuita, Cocles, Punta Uva, Manzanillo-Gandoca
