Costa Rica Romantic Fantasy

  A 10 days-9 nights romantic fantasy, traveling together to discover the rainforest world and it’s biodiversity in Tortuguero, the cloud forest in San Gerardo de Dota, a peaceful area surrounded by the sound of the river and nature. All this combined with a great beach destination, Manuel Antonio, where you will enjoy the National Park and a wide variety of tours.
   
 

Day 1. Arrival to Costa Rica
Upon your arrival to Costa Rica, a representative of the agency will greet you at the airport and provide the transfer to your hotel, where you will spend the first night of your honeymoon in Costa Rica.

 
  Day 2. San Jose - optional tour
There are great one day tours departing from San Jose. We suggest you consider an adventure whitewater rafting day tour to Pacuare River, one of the best rivers for its scenery and rapids; or a combo tour that includes a visit to a coffee plantation, to Poas Volcano and to La Paz Waterfall Garden where you will find a butterfly and hummingbird garden and trails that lead to five incredible waterfalls.
Overnight in San Jose.
   
 




Day 3. San Jose - Tortuguero
Early in the morning your guide will meet you at the hotel for the transfer to the Caribbean region. On the way you will pass through the Braulio Carrillo National Park, which offers a view of the incredible rainforest. Later, you will arrive at a private dock and board the boat for the ride to Tortuguero. The journey by the canals will let you admire the forest, looking for birds, river turtles, crocodiles and other species.
After lunch in the hotel’s restaurant you will join an afternoon tour to town, visiting the Caribbean Conservation Corporation Museum and the village. Return by boat to the hotel for some time off. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge in Tortuguero.

Tortuguero National Park is a navigable network of lagoons and canals with a great biological diversity: more than 300 species of birds and impressive wildlife, monkeys, sloths, iguanas and many others. From July to September you will have the opportunity to take a night tour to observe the Green Sea Turtle, during its nesting period.

   
  Day 4. Tortuguero - San Gerardo de Dota area
  After an early coffee the hotel staff will provide the transfer to the local airstrip for your flight back to San Jose. A representative of the rent a car or a private driver will be waiting for you at the local airport in San Jose, to continue to your hotel in San Gerardo de Dota area.

San Gerardo de Dota is located near Cerro de la Muerte, one of the highest peaks in Costa Rica. On your way you will observe the country side to finally enter in the cloud forest world. At this place, surrounded by a quiet atmosphere, with the nature and river sounds only, you will have the opportunity to observe the resplendent Quetzal.
   
 
Day 5. San Gerardo de Dota area
A complete day to rest and explore the area with different activities and tours: canopy, hiking, finding the waterfalls, looking for a wide variety of birds, taking a mountain bike expedition by your own or a horseback riding tour.

You will stay at a hotel in the San Gerardo de Dota area.
   
  Day 6. San Gerardo de Dota area - Manuel Antonio
  On this day you will continue your honeymoon trip to the Manuel Antonio area, a destination where you will find sand beaches and the famous National Park, a protected zone that encloses a great biodiversity, been a transitional zone where you will observe the rainforest and the tropical dry forest.

Overnight in the Manuel Antonio area.
   
 

Day 7. Manuel Antonio
In Manuel Antonio there are different activities and tours you can take, such as canopy tour, whitewater rafting adventures, mangrove boat tour, sea kayaking, horseback riding tours either at the beach or in nearby areas, sunset sailing tours, national park hiking tours, mountain biking and others.

At night you can enjoy dinner at your hotel’s restaurant or decide to go out to any of the numerous restaurants in Manuel Antonio or in the town of Quepos; or go and take a drink while enjoying the ocean view.

  Day 8. Manuel Antonio
 

A day for optional activities and tours or just relax by the pool or at the beach.
Also if you decide to pamper yourself you can spend some time at the Serenity Spa, while enjoying a massage or a spa treatment. You might want to consider taking a couple massage, a 60 or 90 minutes Swedish massage combined with other techniques.

  Day 9. Manuel Antonio - San Jose
 

Afternoon return to your hotel in San Jose. Enjoy a special dinner at the hotel or a typical show and dinner (Wednesday, Friday or Saturday).

Day 10. San Jose - International Airport After an incredible honeymoon in our country, it’s time for the transfer to the Juan Santamaria International Airport, for your flight home.

   
  Notes:
The last night in San Jose might not be necessary depending on your international flight departure time.

Transportation can be done by private transfer or taking local flights to some of the destinations. Also a rental car can be arranged or shuttle bus service to some of the destinations.
