Volcanoes, Caribbean and Highlands Expeditions

 
  An incredible package of 14 days-13 nights visiting Costa Rica and Panama, exploring the Arenal Volcano area and enjoying the Caribbean beaches of Costa Rica, to continue relaxing at Bocas del Toro Archipelago in Panama and then discovering the Boquete area in the beautiful Chiriqui Highlands.
   
  Day 1. Arrival to San Jose, Costa Rica - Arenal
 
Arrival to San Jose, a representative of the agency will greet you at the airport and provide the transfer to the hotel of your choice in the Arenal area.

Arenal is located on the North Region of our country, a rain forest zone where the Arenal Volcano is located. If the weather allows it you will be able to observe the activity of the volcano: occasional eruptions during the day or the night, ash and smoke columns and lava flows.

   
  Day 2-3. Arenal
 

Days for optional activities. This destination offers you a great variety of tours: horseback riding to La Fortuna waterfall, hiking tours to the National Park or to Celeste River, Venado Caves, canopy tours, floating boat safaris, hanging bridges, birdwatching tours, kayaking or freshwater fishing at Arenal Lake.

You can rest and relax at the hot springs in the thermo-mineral water pools while enjoying the calm atmosphere surrounded by gardens. You will be staying at a hotel in Arenal area.

   
 
  Day 4. Arenal - Sarapiqui
Morning departure to Sarapiqui. You will spend the night in this rainforest area, before continuing the next day to the Caribbean beaches.

Day 5. Sarapiqui - Caribbean beaches
Land transportation to the southern beaches of the Caribbean in Costa Rica.
You will find Puerto Viejo beach, Cahuita beach, Cocles beach, Uvita beach and Manzanillo, among others.
You will be staying at the hotel of your choice in the area.
   
  Day 6-7. Caribbean beaches
 

Relax on the beach or take a one day tour: Cahuita National Park, searching for dolphins tour, hiking through the tropical forest, horseback riding at the beach, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, visits to indigenous reserves, Gandoca Manzanillo National Park, canopy tour.

You will be staying at a hotel of your choice in the area.

  Day 8. Caribbean side, Costa Rica - Bocas del Toro Archipelago, Panama
 

Morning land transfer to Sixaola border. Crossing the border can take around 30 - 45 minutes, while you go through customs.
Your guide will meet you at the border and provide transportation to Almirante, for a boat transfer to Colon Island, the main island of the Bocas del Toro Archipelago.

This small island community, where you will enjoy Afro-Panamanian culture, was first visited by Christopher Columbus on October, 1502. The archipelago is formed by nine islands and 251 cays, great places for snorkeling and diving. Many of the islands of the archipelago are protected by the Bastimento Island Marine National Park.

   
 
  Day 9-10. Bocas del Toro Archipelago
 

Days to explore the archipelago, relax at the white sand beaches and enjoy the ocean. You can take an optional tour: scuba diving, snorkeling tours, bird watching, eco-tours, hiking tours, kayaking expeditions.

You will be staying at a hotel in the area.

   
  Day 11. Bocas del Toro Archipelago – Boquete
  Early morning flight to David, in the western province of Chiriqui. Then continue by land to Boquete, in the Highlands.
Upon check-in at your hotel, optional tour to a private flower garden and a coffee roasting facility. In Boquete you will find the cool weather of the mountains and a natural environment. This region is a rainforest area, home of the Baru Volcano National Park, where you will have the opportunity to observe the Resplendent Quetzal.
 

 

  Day 12. Boquete
 

Day to enjoy the town of Boquete and highlands or arrange an optional tour: hiking tour to Baru National Park, coffee plantations visits, birdwatching tours, horseback riding tours or whitewater rafting adventure.

You will be staying at a hotel in the Boquete town area.

  Day 13. Boquete - Panama City
 

At an appropriated time, transfer to David for you local flight to Panama City.
You can take an afternoon tour to Panama Canal or just enjoy an afternoon off. Also, depending of the day of the week you can join the Panama folkloric dinner and show.

You will spend the night at a hotel in Panama City.

Day 14. Panama City - International Airport, Panama
Transfer to Panama City International Airport, on time for your departing flight.

Notes:
The first and last night in San Jose/Panama might not be necessary depending on your international flight arrival and departure time.

Transportation can be done by private transfer. Shuttle bus service can be arranged to some of the destinations in Costa Rica.

All the packages are flexible and each one will be customized to meet your specific requirements and needs.
